Job Description – Waiter (Catering Industry)

The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests during catering functions and events. This role ensures that food and drinks are served efficiently, tables are set properly, and guests are attended to in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Set up tables, chairs, linens, glassware, utensils, and decorations as required.
• Serve food and beverages according to event requirements and client specifications.
• Ensure proper table service, including clearing used plates, glasses, and utensils promptly.
• Assist in buffet set-up, replenishment, and maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and event coordinators for smooth operations.
• Follow safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Provide support in event setup and teardown as needed.
• Handle guest requests and complaints in a courteous and timely manner.

Qualifications:

• At least High School graduate or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality is an advantage.
• Preferably with relevant work experience as a waiter in catering, restaurant, or hotel industry.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods.
• Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings depending on events.
