POSITION SUMMARY:

The Teppanyaki Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food on a hot iron griddle directly in front of guests, delivering an interactive and entertaining dining experience. The role involves ensuring food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards while maintaining excellent customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare all teppanyaki ingredients (meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces) according to restaurant standards.

Cook dishes in front of guests using teppanyaki-style techniques, ensuring entertainment and engagement.

Maintain consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation.

Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with safety regulations.

Clean and maintain teppan grills, utensils, and surrounding work area before and after service.

Manage cooking times to ensure timely service for all guests.

Monitor inventory and report shortages or equipment issues to the Head Chef or Supervisor.

Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and cost control when required.

Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when dealing with guests and team members.

Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent; culinary training is an advantage.

Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience as a Teppanyaki or Grill Cook in a restaurant setting.

Skills:

Skilled in knife handling and teppanyaki-style cooking.

Strong communication and showmanship skills.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
