Job Description: Caregiver/Elderly Care Assistant

Position: Caregiver

Location: Quezon City

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Reports To: Client's Family / Care Coordinator

Job Summary

The Caregiver will provide compassionate, patient-centered support for a 95-year-old client. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, ensuring comfort and safety, promoting well-being, and maintaining communication with the client's family. The ideal candidate must be attentive, trustworthy, and experienced in elderly care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

  • Assist with mobility and safety during daily routines.
  • Maintain records of vital signs and medicines ,laboratories and procedures.
  • Assist in bath, oral hygiene, perineal hygiene
  • Make sure all personal belongings ( clothes, shoes, bags, etc. ) are clean and well kept.
  • Clothing ironing, assist in bedmaking

2. Exercise Support

  • Assist the client with simple, doctor-approved exercises to maintain mobility and circulation.

3. Meal Preparation and Feeding Assistance

  • Prepare or set up meals according to dietary needs.
  • Assist with feeding if required, ensuring comfort and proper nutrition.

4. Medication Assistance

  • Ensure the client takes prescribed medications on schedule.
  • Follow the medication list provided by the family or medical professionals.
  • Monitor for any unusual reactions or concerns and report them immediately.
  • Keep a simple record of medication times when required.

5. Engagement and Mental Stimulation

  • Provide daily activities such as coloring, light games, and supervised use of her tablet to encourage cognitive engagement and enjoyment.

6. Communication and Reporting

  • Provide regular updates to the family, reporting any changes in the client's condition, behavior, or needs.

7. Maintain all medical equipment used for care of the elderly in good and working condition

8. Safety and Well-Being Monitoring

  • Observe for any signs of discomfort, health changes, or safety risks.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe living environment.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in elderly care or caregiving preferred.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in elderly care or caregiving is required.
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance.
  • Responsible, patient, and compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain communication with family.
  • Basic knowledge of medication reminders and safety procedures.
  • This position requires 24/7 live-in availability.
  • Contribute ideas on how to improve holistic elderly care.
  • Have knowledge in using tablets, and other gadgets is a plus.
