Job Summary
We are looking for a Hemodialysis Nurse to join our healthcare team. This role requires a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) who specializes in providing care to patients undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure or related conditions. The nurse will be responsible for preparing patients and equipment, monitoring treatments, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout dialysis sessions. This position demands expertise in renal care, dialysis procedures, and the proper use of dialysis machines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' overall health, review their medical history, and assess their condition prior to dialysis treatment.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and oxygen levels throughout the dialysis procedure.
- Detect and respond to potential complications, including low blood pressure, electrolyte disturbances, or signs of infection.
- Set up and operate dialysis machines and related equipment in accordance with established protocols.
- Start and conclude dialysis sessions as prescribed in the patient's treatment plan.
- Provide education to patients and their families about dialysis, dietary needs, lifestyle changes, and available treatment options.
- Keep detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, procedures, medications given, and any changes in patient condition.
- Strictly follow infection control measures to safeguard patients and prevent contamination.
- Ensure that all dialysis equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and maintained in compliance with facility standards.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, and other medical professionals to create and adjust individualized care plans.
- Contribute to patient case reviews by sharing observations and updates on patient responses to treatment.
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in hemodialysis.
- Certification or additional training in dialysis nursing is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of renal conditions, dialysis treatment methods, and related health concerns.
- Skilled in operating and troubleshooting dialysis machines and equipment.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care abilities.
- Capable of working efficiently under pressure while managing multiple patients in a fast-paced setting.
- Available to start immediately and willing to work on-site.
