Qualifications:

  • TESDA-certified in GTAW and SMAW
  • Preferably with a 2-year Diploma or Certificate in Welding Technology
  • At least a high school graduate
  • With 2–3 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a coal-based CFB power plant
  • Willing to be assigned in Iligan City
  • Can start ASAP

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding tasks using various welding processes such as SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) on a variety of metals (e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and work orders.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare metal components for welding, ensuring proper fit-up and alignment.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures, frames, supports, and other mechanical components according to specifications.
  • Perform tack welding to secure parts prior to final welding.
  • Repair damaged or worn mechanical equipment and structures by welding broken parts, filling gaps, and reinforcing weak areas.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on welded joints and structures.
  • Troubleshoot welding-related issues and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Inspect welds for defects (e.g., porosity, cracks, incomplete fusion) and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded components.
  • May conduct or assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) such as dye penetrant testing or magnetic particle testing.
  • Ensure welds meet required strength and integrity for their intended application.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Handle welding equipment and materials safely.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Comply with relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment, including cleaning, adjusting settings, and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Ensure welding equipment is in safe and proper working order.
  • May assist other tradespeople as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance welding skills and knowledge.
