Qualifications:

• Education:
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology).
• Applicants who are underboard in Radiologic Technology are encouraged to apply.
• An Radiologic Technician may be working under the supervision of a fully certified radiologic technologist until they complete the certification process.
• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with operating radiographic equipment and performing diagnostic imaging procedures (X-rays, CT scans, etc.).
• Knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, radiation safety, and radiation protection techniques.

Job Description:

• Imaging Procedures: Performing diagnostic imaging procedures under the supervision of licensed radiologists or senior radiologic technologists. This may involve taking X-rays, preparing patients, positioning them appropriately for images, and ensuring the images are of high quality.
• Patient Interaction: Interacting with patients to explain the procedure, prepare them physically and emotionally, and ensure their comfort and safety during the imaging process.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assisting in maintaining and cleaning radiology equipment. Ensuring all imaging devices are functioning properly and notifying supervisors of any technical issues.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and themselves. This includes using lead shields, correct exposure techniques, and following appropriate protocols.
• Supervised Practice: Since they are typically still in the certification process, underboard technologists will work under the direct supervision of licensed and certified technologists, who provide guidance and ensure proper techniques are being followed.
• Record Keeping: Documenting patient information, images, and any other necessary details in patient records. This could include following up on test results or assisting in coordinating patient care.
