Strong hands-on experience with Unix Systems

Installation, configuration, and administration of operating systems and core services

System resource management (CPU, memory, I/O, swap, disk partitions, LVM, and filesystem tuning)

User and group administration, sudo policies, and RBAC.

Service and process management using systemd, init.d, and crontab

Troubleshooting of system performance, kernel-level parameters, and log analysis.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible

Automating Unix server builds, patching, configuration, and compliance enforcement using Ansible playbooks

Integration of Unix provisioning workflows into CI/CD pipelines

Familiarity with cloud provisioning (AWS, Azure) and VM template management.

Managing infrastructure repositories using Git for configuration version control.

Provisioning and managing virtualized Unix environments

Experience with test lab setup for application or database validation on Unix systems.

Knowledge of snapshot, cloning, and template management to create repeatable test environments

Managing and automating test bed lifecycles via orchestration tools

Strong understanding of Unix security hardening

Managing firewalls, SSH configuration, and sudo access policies.

OS-level patching and vulnerability remediation.

Auditing and monitoring using syslog, auditd, or rsyslog

Root cause analysis and system recovery planning.

Collaboration with DB, Cloud, and Network teams for end-to-end service orchestration.

Knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, or Perl for advanced automation tasks.

Experience deploying Unix environments via cloud-native orchestration tools

Integration with ServiceNow or internal service catalogs for automated provisioning.

Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration for Unix-based workloads.

Capacity and resource forecasting for Unix-based infrastructure.

Involvement in infrastructure architecture design and optimization reviews.

Developing reusable automation frameworks for provisioning and compliance validation.

Cost optimization and performance efficiency in virtualized or cloud environments.
