Remote Bookkeeper

Job Title: Remote Bookkeeper (Canadian Company)

Location: Remote (Philippines)

Type: Full-Time

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and daily bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks.

• Record and classify expenses, revenues, and other financial transactions in accordance with Canadian accounting standards.

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial reports.

• Prepare invoices, track accounts receivable, and process payments for accounts payable.

• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, including GST/HST and payroll tax filings.

• Generate financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.

• Handle payroll processing for Canadian employees as needed.

• Collaborate with the management team to support financial decision-making and reporting.

• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Provide monthly reports based on QuickBooks and small business PNL statements.

• Be able to work with the Canadian accountant of the company.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably for Canadian or international clients.

• At least 5 years experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software.

• Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles and tax regulations.

• Familiarity with small business financial procedures, including payroll, budgeting, and cash flow management.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setup.

• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).

• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Canadian small business accounting.

• Knowledge of GST/HST and payroll tax filing in Canada.

• CPA or bookkeeping certification (not required, but a plus).
