AS400 Programmer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior RPG Programmer with expertise in AS400 systems and a solid background in JDA/MMS (Merchandise Management System) applications. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on RPG programming experience, with a minimum of 2 years working directly with JDA-MMS. You will play a key role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications critical to retail and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, and CLP on IBM iSeries (AS400).
• Provide support and maintenance for the JDA/MMS application suite, including customizations, performance tuning, and data corrections.
• Work closely with business analysts and end-users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
• Perform system testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and performance alignment with other systems.
• Participate in system upgrades, patches, and migrations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on programming experience in RPG/RPGLE/SQLRPGLE & CLP on AS400.
• At least 2 years of experience working with JDA-MMS (Merchandise Management System).
• Strong understanding of retail or supply chain systems is a plus.
• Experience with data analysis and debugging in a complex enterprise environment.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to modernization tools or transitioning from legacy systems to newer platforms.
• Familiarity with APIs, DB2/400, or third-party software integrations.
• Experience working in an international or multicultural team setting.
