JOB SUMMARY

This role is going to lead the proactive enablement of our AI platform capabilities. This role defines and drives the implementation of backend and cloud infrastructure features (on Azure and AWS, Databricks) needed to support secure, scalable AI workload deployment, including PII data onboarding and service-oriented platform features.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business

  • Define and maintain the AI platform cloud capability roadmap
  • Design service-oriented platform features to support AI and GenAI adoption at scale
  • Liaise with platform teams to ensure backend infrastructure is ready for secure PII onboarding
  • Identify and close capability gaps for AI workloads on Azure and AWS Databricks
  • Develop reusable infrastructure patterns and templates for compliant deployment
  • Work cross-functionally to align platform evolution with business and governance requirements
  • Oversee rollout of new platform features into production environments
  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of new platform capabilities across AI use cases
  • Coordinate updates or optimizations to platform features based on operational feedback

  • Set the vision for AI platform evolution, ensuring cloud capabilities support AI use cases securely and at scale.
  • Drive 'idea to impact' at the platform layer, turning strategic platform requirements into working capabilities deployed across Azure and AWS Databricks.
  • Lead innovation in platform design, ensuring service-oriented features are developed to support new business opportunities.
  • Be an ambassador of responsible AI, embedding governance, resilience, and ethical AI principles in platform enablement.
  • Foster collaboration with technology, data, and business stakeholders, ensuring cross-functional ownership of platform outcomes.
  • Build once, scale many -enable reusable patterns, frameworks, and infrastructure that accelerate group-wide adoption.
  • Take on broader Data & AI responsibilities when needed, such as contributing to group-wide strategy papers, regulatory dialogues, or innovation showcases.
  • Live SCB's values by ensuring platform capabilities reflect the highest standards of client trust, sustainability, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Strategic Visioning: Ability to set a platform capability roadmap aligned to long-term AI adoption.
  • Cloud & Data Expertise: Deep knowledge of Azure and AWS, particularly Databricks, MLOps/DevOps, and data engineering.
  • Platform Enablement: Skilled at designing service-oriented platform features and reusable infrastructure patterns.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to drive cross-team initiatives and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Innovation Orientation: Brings forward new ideas to make the platform more scalable, secure, and business-ready.
  • Governance & Risk Awareness: Strong understanding of compliance, security, and regulatory frameworks in financial services.
