Manager – Data Governance & Matter Transfers

(Internal Title: Manager, Matter Mobility)

Makati | Hybrid (3x onsite per week)

Rotating shifts, with occasional PH holiday work

White & Case, a leading global law firm, is hiring a Manager – Data Governance & Matter Transfers to lead our Manila-based team. Internally titled Manager, Matter Mobility, this role oversees client and matter data transfers, ensures compliance with firm policies, and drives automation and efficiency in information governance processes. You'll work closely with global stakeholders, including our General Counsel, Data Protection, and Cybersecurity teams, while leading and coaching a local team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Manila matter mobility team and oversee data transfer processes
  • Ensure compliance with firm and client information governance standards
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Partner with global stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, and Technology

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in risk management, information governance, or records management
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Proficiency in managing and using a Records Management System (RMS)
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Management Systems (DMS); preference for iManage Work experience
  • Experience in a law firm is an advantage
  • Experience handling legal data transfer is highly desireable
  • Strong knowledge of records/document management systems (iManage preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Amenable to rotating schedules and occasional PH holiday work
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, local data protection laws) and legal compliance frameworks
