SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the daily operation of vehicle maintenance and automotive service scheduling. Provides quality control for major maintenance on vehicles and performing basic rescue maintenance on trucks if needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the daily operation of vehicle maintenance and automotive service scheduling. Provides quality control for major maintenance on vehicles and performing basic on-site maintenance on vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair a variety of automotive issues, including engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and suspension problems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations.
  • Test and inspect vehicle components to identify and address any issues
  • Maintain detailed records of all repair work and parts used and report it to Transport Supervisor for monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the wider operations team to ensure the efficient and timely maintenance of all trucks
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures
  • Replace worn-out or damaged parts such as tires, filters, belts, and hose.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to ensure they are safe for operations and comply with regulations.
  • Inspect the vehicle's performance during test drives to ensure it meets the required safety standards.
  • Update vehicle maintenance logs and make notes of any recurring issues that need to be addressed to prevent future problems.
  • Offer advise on maintenance schedules, repairs, and any necessary upgrades to keep trucks running smoothly.
  • Keep the work area organized and ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
  • Prepare purchase order for all common spare parts, tires and other materials needed and ask signature of the Transport Supervisor and to Logistics Manager.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • College level or High School graduate or equivalent
  • At least 3-5 years' experience – experienced mechanic with technical knowledge in truck maintenance
  • Well-versed in automotive troubleshooting with knowledge in safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems and oil and lubricants type
  • Expert-level knowledge in oil change process for gasoline and diesel automobiles
  • Ability to deal with standardized situation and follow technical manual
  • TESDA – Automotive Servicing certification or other relevant vocational course is a plus
  • Can work with minimum supervision
  • Good in verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
