Automation Programmer

An Automation Programmer designs, develops, and maintains automated systems and scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and ensure quality in areas like software development, manufacturing, or IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development: Design and develop automation solutions for various processes, systems, and equipment. This can involve creating control algorithms for industrial machinery or building automation frameworks for software testing.
• Programming and Configuration: Program and configure automation technologies, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), robotic systems, and sensors.
• Coding and Scripting: Write, modify, and test the code and scripts that enable automation, often using languages like Python, Java, C#, or ladder logic.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct extensive testing and simulations to ensure proper functionality, performance, reliability, and safety compliance of automated systems.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues or defects in automation systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, developers, and operations personnel, to gather requirements, integrate solutions, and ensure seamless operation.
• Documentation and Training: Document technical specifications, system designs, maintenance procedures, and program changes, and potentially train team members on system updates.
