Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payables Specialist is responsible for managing and processing all vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and in a timely manner. This role ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards, while maintaining good relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other payables.
- Verify invoice accuracy, match purchase orders and receipts, and ensure proper approvals.
- Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs (checks, wire transfers, online payments).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and documentation.
- Assist with month-end closing by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address invoice or payment issues.
- Support accounting team with other related tasks as needed.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery terms
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier contracts.
- Maintain and update supplier records, price lists, and product specifications
- Evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, price, and reliability
- Assist in cost-saving initiatives and budget monitoring for purchasing activities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- At least 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable or similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
