HE Mechanic

Heavy equipment mechanic inspects, diagnose, repairs, and maintain large machinery like bulldozers, excavators, and cranes. Their duties include performing routine maintenance, fixing mechanical and electrical issues in engines and hydraulic systems, using diagnostic tools, and replacing worn parts. They must also ensure repairs comply with safety standards, keep accurate records, and sometimes work on-site or in a workshop. Core responsibilities

• Inspection and diagnosis: Visually inspect equipment and use diagnostic tools and computer systems to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Repairs and maintenance: Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, and other components. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and lubrication.
• System overhauls: Rebuild components like engines and transmissions.
• Safety compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and standards during all tasks.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
• Parts management: Order and manage the inventory of replacement parts and supplies.
• Testing: Test equipment after repairs to ensure it is operating correctly.
• Communication: Communicate with operators to understand issues and provide updates on repairs.
• College level with NC2 certificate
