Key Responsibilities
1.Diagnostic Imaging
Performs X-ray, CT, and other radiologic procedures following physician requests.
Ensures high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
Positions patients correctly and explains procedures clearly.
- Patient Care & Safety
Ensures patient comfort and privacy at all times.
Screens patients for pregnancy and contraindications.
Applies radiation safety measures (ALARA principle) to patients and staff.
Assists patients with limited mobility.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Operates and maintains radiology equipment safely and efficiently.
Performs routine checks, warm-up procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
Reports malfunctioning machines to the appropriate department.
- Radiation Protection & Compliance
Follows DOH, FDA, and PNRI regulations on radiation safety.
Ensures proper use of PPE, shielding, dosimeters, and safety devices.
Implements and maintains radiation safety protocols.
- Documentation & Record Keeping
Accurately encodes procedures, patient data, and imaging logs.
Ensures proper archiving of images in RIS/PACS systems.
Prepares reports and assists with DOH or quality audits.
- Coordination & Teamwork
Coordinates with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
Assists in managing workflow and patient scheduling.
Helps maintain cleanliness and organization of the imaging area.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (PRC).
- Graduate of BS in Radiologic Technology.
- Completion of required internship in accredited hospitals/centers.
- With or without experience (depending on facility requirements).
- Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in a clinical radiology setting.
- Experience in CT scan, mobile X-ray, fluoroscopy, or OR imaging.
- Training or certification in:
- Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
- CPD seminars/training
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (advantage)
- Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in operating radiology machines and PACS/RIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail for image quality and patient data accuracy.
- Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient-handling skills.
- Able to work under pressure and handle multiple cases efficiently.
- Other Requirements
- Physically fit; able to assist patients safely.
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
- Professional, ethical, and compliant with Data Privacy Act guidelines.
