Structural Draftsman

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Draftsman to join our

engineering team. The Structural Draftsman will be responsible for translating engineering

designs and architectural concepts into precise and comprehensive structural drawings.

This role requires a strong understanding of drafting principles, structural components,

and building codes, with the ability to accurately interpret architectural drawings to

produce detailed structural layouts, sections, and details.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and thoroughly review architectural drawings, specifications, and other

project-related documents to understand the overall design intent and identify

structural implications.

• Collaborate closely with structural engineers to convert their designs, calculations,

and sketches into clear, accurate, and constructible structural engineering

drawings using CAD software.

• Prepare detailed structural plans, elevations, sections, and details for various

building components, including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, roofs,

and bracing systems.

• Develop rebar detailing, connection details, and other essential structural

information as required by the engineering design.

• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, local building codes,

and company drafting guidelines.

• Maintain accurate drawing registers and manage drawing revisions effectively.
• Identify and resolve potential conflicts or discrepancies between architectural and

structural designs, escalating issues to the structural engineer when necessary.

• Assist in the preparation of material schedules and quantities based on the drafted

structural components.

• Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders

regarding drawing progress and technical clarifications.

• Participate in design reviews and provide valuable input on constructability and

drawing clarity.

• Stay updated with the latest drafting software, technologies, and industry best

practices.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering

Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as a Structural Draftsman, preferably in a

consulting engineering firm or construction company.

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Tekla Structures) is

essential.

• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and other engineering

drawings.

• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, materials (concrete, steel,

timber, masonry), and construction methods.

• Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE, local

building codes).

• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage

multiple projects simultaneously.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a

team environment.

• Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing

drafting challenges.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software.
• Experience with clash detection in a BIM environment

Pay: Php45, Php50,000.00 per month
