Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in HVAC industry, ideally as a draftsperson or mechanical engineer (2 years + ideal, but open to less experienced candidates who show potential)
  • Can interpret construction drawings, house plans & associated documentation such as specifications and addenda
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering OR a degree recognized under the Philippines Technological Council Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET)
  • Knowledge and application of heat transfer/heat load principles
  • Knowledge and application of duct design principles
  • Can interpret manufacturer technical data sheets and manuals
  • Intermediate general computing skills (comfortable with MS Office & can navigate/learn new software programs easily)
  • Intermediate MS Excel
  • Experience with Plandroid drafting software highly advantageous
  • Experience with Revit MEP or AutoCAD advantageous for future plans
  • Knowledge or experience relating to residential air-conditioning in the Australian market advantageous (NCC & Australian Standards)
  • Knowledge or experience with products from well-known unit manufacturers advantageous (Fujitsu, Samsung, Daikin, Rinnai, Hisense, Haier etc)
  • Knowledge or experience with products from Australian duct equipment & controls manufacturers advantageous (Advantage Air or Polyaire)

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, draft & estimate bill of materials for ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning systems for Australian residential home builders (Class 1 buildings)
  • Preliminary heat load assessment and equipment selection, typical system sizes will range between kW
  • Draft basic preliminary layouts for client/homeowner to sign off, showing unit locations, outlet locations, controller locations, plus system details such as brand, capacity etc.
  • Duct design/layout using Advantage Air or Polyaire equipment
  • Compile bill of materials for projects that are ready for installation
  • System balancing and static pressure calculations as required
  • Provide Consolidated Energy with accurate information and fast turnarounds based on their requirements
