UCT is looking for a talented Design Engineer IV to join us in Cebu

Job Summary:

The Thermal Design Engineer IV develops heating and temperature sensing solutions for gas and liquid delivery systems, ensuring designs meet customer specifications and quality standards. Using CAD tools, the role drives product development, feasibility analysis, and supports fabrication, testing, and installation activities. It collaborates with account managers, operations, and manufacturing teams, participates in design reviews, and provides technical presentations. With expertise in thermal applications, prototyping, and process improvement, the engineer ensures efficient, reliable solutions that enhance performance and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, engineer-to-order environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Designs thermal solutions both heating and temperature sensing applications for both gas and/or liquid delivery systems, using Cad software to execute designs.
  2. Possess some (engineer to engineer) product\project development experience; along with, the ability to provide presentations to sales/operations staff when required.
  3. Ability to research and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application
  4. Responsible to work with internal UCT account managers and operations staff to complete design requirements to customers' specifications
  5. Coordinates with UCT Thermal manufacturing assisting in the fabrication, test, and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  6. Participate in design review meetings with internal staff and to follow the NPI process via MS Teams in PST.
  7. Potentially participate in customer presentations with sales/operations staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Personal and or professional experience working physically with tools and manufacturing equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication English skills
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Must have working knowledge of CAD software – AutoDesk 3D Inventor, and AutoCAD 2D, and SolidWorks.
  • A working understanding to effectively work within the Agile database
  • Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups to ensure that site delivery and quality issues are met
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database software
  • A fundamental understanding of thermal applications and material properties

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience is mandatory.

Experience Requirement:

  • 5+ years design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, heating or related industry. Experience with thermal management and electrical design preferred.
  • Experience with thermal management and electrical design preferred.

  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
