Musikgarten Teacher

Musikgarten Manila is a music-based playschool for babies, toddlers and young kids. The school is the accredited center for the Musikgarten curriculum from the U.S. The program is even more strengthened with the use of the Orff method and instruments for early childhood music and movement programs. It uses age-appropriate, interactive and purposeful activities. The music and movement activities like singing, dancing, rocking, recitation of nursery rhymes and songs with actions, merry-music-making, chants, melodic and rhythmic instrument playing are highlighted in each class.

It has a unique approach in delivering story ideas or story telling as various musical instruments are used to stimulate imagination and self-expression. There are also sharing of stories, conversations and reading stories together. The Musikgarten teacher is instrumental in awakening the mind, opening sensory channels, nurturing children's creativity and developing love for learning.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The teacher will have training in early childhood music and movement and Musikgarten Curriculum.
• The teacher will be assigned to lead babies, toddlers, young children ages 3-5 with their accompanying adults.
• The teacher will cheerfully sing songs, chant rhymes and rhythms with movement, share carefully selected animated story activities, and play age appropriate musical instruments.
• The teacher is patient, diligent, flexible, self-reliant, creative, disciplined and prompt.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• An energetic teacher who can sing in tune and rhythm, and has deep love for children, music and movement.
• Must be willing to be trained and teach the Musikgarten curriculum.
• Graduate of BS Education or Early Childhood Education, or Bachelor of Music Education or Psychology
• One year teaching experience in a preschool setting is an advantage
• Ability to play an accompanying instrument (e.g. piano, guitar, or ukulele) is an advantage
• Likes the company of energetic and inquisitive children
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills
• Pleasing personality with good moral character
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Willing to work in BGC, Taguig City
