We are looking to hire a Trader to support our business growth in FIP (Food Ingredients & Package).
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Create value for the company, take daily commercial decisions.
- Develop and manage B2B clients and their contract positions in the Philippines, both on physical and futures, and report risks.
- Expand volumes and profitability of in-country sales and purchases of FIP products.
- Develop relationships with the customers and suppliers for countertrading flow of food, ingredients, and packaging.
- Develop new customers portfolio, actively search for new customers, helping the company to increase its footprint and profitability.
- Manage the Physical/Futures risk positions.
- Understand regional FIP Supply and Demand.
- Supply the global FIP team with market information. Keep track of regional Supply & Demand.
- Work closely with FIP teams, its trade finance, accounting, operations, and trading desks.
- Have close contact with our market risk team in order to keep our counterparty risk controlled.
- Liaise with the local trade execution team and finance team on all relevant topics for an accurate recording of P&L.
- Provide information on market demand, client performance, and any information relevant to the Company's Supply & Demand models.
About you:
We are looking for someone with the following skillset and attributes:
Requirement:
- Solid understanding of INCOTERMS, credit risk, and trade financing.
- University education desirable, degree preferably obtained in either economics, mathematics, or business studies.
- Fluency in English (corporate language) and local language is essential, and a good understanding of any other language is considered a valuable asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development and domestic trading in the Philippines, preferably familiar with B2B supply chain.
- Preferably 3 years of experience in the starch, nutritive sweeteners, or packaging industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international markets.
- Preferably has good research and data analytics skills.
- Proven ability to work within a team-based work environment, focused on transparent and frank communication.
- A great individual contributor with self-motivating passion that requires minimal supervision.
- Strong pipeline and inventory management skills, as well as forecasting future demand.
- Knowledge and previous management of commodity, packaging, energy, and/or other ingredients and foreign exchange hedging.
- Experience in developing new markets is desired.
- Accountable for purchase, sales, and marketing.
- Cursory knowledge of controlling and accounting concepts is preferred.
