The HSSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's comprehensive safety, health, security, and environmental (HSSE) program. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, the protection of the environment, and the security of our assets. The HSSE Manager will work closely with all departments to integrate HSSE considerations into all aspects of our operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes and implements occupational health, work safety, security and environment policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Administer all accidents/incident happened within the facility.
- Coordinate with various regulatory agencies in terms of compliances related to occupational health, work safety and environment such as DENR, DOLE, BFP and PEZA.
- Coordinate and conduct occupational health, work safety, security and environment audits.
- Perform assessments in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards and risks.
- Develop and deliver training in occupational health, work safety, security and environmental awareness for all employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely.
- Inspect and maintain emergency and safety equipment and devices.
- Responds and assists emergency calls or other situations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and review risk assessments regularly to ensure they remain relevant and effective
- Develop and implement emergency/safety preparedness and evacuation plans and initiate effectiveness tests.
- Inspect the physical aspects of terminal operations and office locations.
- Monitor safe working practices on an ongoing basis to ensure high standards of excellence.
- Supervise and manage health, safety, security and environment department.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate HSSE performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to ensure ongoing compliance and safety.
- Recommend corrective actions related to hazardous conditions to the appropriate sources.
- Provide and maintain statistical data, reports and analysis of accident/incident trends to operations in support of accident/incident reduction goals and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity at all times.
- Performs other duties as maybe assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Engineer/Chemist with at least 2 years of relevant experience in environmental management or other professionals of appropriate discipline with at least 5 years relevant experience in environmental management.
- with 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training (BOSH)
- with Construction Occupational Safety and Health Training (COSH)
- with Loss Control Management Training (LCM)
- with Fire Safety Training/Fire Brigade Training
- with First Aid and Basic Life Support Certification
- Certification in HIRAC Training
- DOLE accredited as Safety Officer 3 or 4
- 5+ years in safety security and environmental roles
- Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or similar industrial setting is a plus
- Familiarity with local regulatory bodies such as DOLE, DENR, FDA, BFP and PEZA
- Supervisory and team management skills
