Node / Phython / PHP Software Developer

Well-versed in either NodeJS / Python / PHP programming language as well as experience with server setup and configuration. Responsible for developing backend and API applications that will be consumed by interfacing front-end applications (mobile app or web app), designing and implementing software solutions to meet customer needs, and ensuring that software is scalable and is performant under heavy loads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test, and deploy backend and API applications.
• Design and build RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services into existing systems.
• Conduct impact and risk analysis during the design phase to evaluate potential effects and identify risks associated with proposed changes or new features.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications to ensure optimal performance and functionality is maintained.
• Design and implement efficient database schemas, data structures, and data flows that meet business requirements.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application functionality.
• Work with cross-functional teams including external vendors/partners, QA testers, business analysts, business users and other departments to ensure that requirements are fulfilled.
• Create or revise technical specifications to ensure complete and accurate documentation of software applications.
• Ensure that security protocols, such as input filtering and validation, encryption, and authentication, are followed according to standards.
• Evaluate test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to ensure thorough and accurate software testing is conducted.
• Help configure development and staging environments to reflect the production environment.
• Prepare deployment plans and procedures to ensure a smooth, error-free release of software releases, including detailed steps for execution, rollback strategies and verification process to minimize disruptions and maintain system stability.
• Provide post-live support to ensure application stability by actively monitoring performance and security, tracking and resolving errors and bugs, managing incident responses, and conducting post-mortem analyses to prevent future issues
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality standards are met

Job Requirements:

Technical Skills:

• 1-3 years of experience in back-end development.
• Well-versed in any of the following programming languages:  (NestJS), PHP, Python, .NET; and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Understanding of database design and SQL, with experience using SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledgeable in RESTful API design and development.
• Exposure to web frameworks, such as NestJS, Django or Laminas.
• Knowledgeable in Agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, Angular, React) is a plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools is advantageous.
• Familiarity with software development principles, design patterns, and architecture.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area is required;
• With at least 3 years of computer experience as a software developer is an advantage.
