Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods or personnel to assigned destinations.
  • Follow the most efficient routes and comply with traffic laws to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring all items are handled carefully and delivered in good condition.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality by conducting regular inspections.
  • Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or delays immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collect and submit receipts, delivery logs, and other necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and clients professionally and courteously.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring client satisfaction during deliveries.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

To be considered for the Freelance Transport Driver role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Valid Driver's License:

  2. Possess a valid and current driver's license appropriate for driving the vehicle (e.g., light or heavy).

  3. Clean Driving Record:

  4. A proven track record of safe driving with no major traffic violations, accidents, or incidents within the past [insert number of years].

  5. Knowledge of Local Routes:

  6. Familiarity with local and regional routes, roads, and traffic laws to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.

  7. Physical Ability:

  8. Capable of lifting and handling heavy items (if required), with the physical stamina to work in various weather conditions.

  9. Flexibility in Work Hours:

  10. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on delivery schedules or client needs.

  11. Communication Skills:

  12. Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate with clients, dispatchers, and other personnel.

  13. Ability to use a smartphone for communication and GPS navigation.

  14. Professionalism and Customer Service:

  15. Strong commitment to professionalism and providing excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction during deliveries.

  16. Attention to Detail:

  17. Ability to follow detailed instructions, handle delivery paperwork accurately, and ensure the correct items are delivered to the correct locations.

  18. Vehicle Maintenance Knowledge:

  19. Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to conduct routine checks (e.g., tire pressure, oil level) to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.

  20. Background Check (if applicable):

  21. Willingness to undergo a background check, including driving history, criminal record, and drug testing, if required by the company.
