Position Overview

The Clinic Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy services within Garrod Specialty Pharmacy's health center. The role encompasses medication dispensing, patient counseling, medication therapy management, and active participation in public health initiatives such as immunization (if duly certified by the Philippine Pharmacists Association and recognized training bodies). The Clinic Pharmacist will also contribute to regulatory compliance, inventory management, and patient safety in line with the Philippine Pharmacy Act (RA 10918), Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), and other applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care and Clinical Services

  • Dispense prescription and non-prescription medicines accurately and in compliance with FDA and DOH standards.
  • Provide patient counseling on proper medication use, side effects, storage, and adherence.
  • Conduct medication therapy reviews and monitor patients for potential drug interactions and adverse reactions.
  • Administer immunizations (if certified) in compliance with DOH protocols and professional standards.
  • Participate in health education, wellness programs, and medical missions conducted by the health center.

  • Regulatory and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with RA Pharmacy Law), FDA regulations, and local ordinances relevant to pharmacy practice.

  • Maintain proper documentation and patient records in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012.
  • Support DOH and LGU public health programs, including vaccination drives and medicine access programs.

  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management

  • Monitor, manage, and reconcile inventory of medicines, vaccines, and medical supplies.

  • Ensure cold chain management and safe storage of vaccines and temperature-sensitive drugs.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate with suppliers to prevent shortages and expirations.

  • Operational and Administrative Support

  • Oversee and guide Pharmacy Assistants in daily dispensing, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance.

  • Support clinic operations by collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
  • Prepare reports on medicine utilization, patient care outcomes, and pharmacy-related activities.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
  • Preferably with certification in Immunization Training for Pharmacists (recognized by PPhA/DOH).
  • At least 1–2 years of clinical or community pharmacy experience; fresh board passers with strong potential may be considered.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws, DOH programs, PhilHealth coverage, and data privacy requirements.
  • Strong communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and electronic health records (EHR) is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php25, Php30,000.00 per month
