The Opportunity

We're seeking an exceptional Infra & Ops Team Lead to enhance our IT operations and infrastructure. This role is for a leader who excels at optimizing cloud environments, ensuring robust security, and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning strategic vision with operational execution, making our IT infrastructure a powerful enabler of business growth.

This position carries ultimate responsibility for the stability, security, and performance of our entire IT infrastructure. It includes strategic oversight of our AWS cloud environment, managed by a service vendor, and direct leadership of internal IT operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for cloud technology and a talent for maximizing team potential, ready to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Cloud & Vendor Oversight: Drive the strategic direction for the AWS cloud infrastructure. This involves partnering closely with the AWS managed service vendor, holding them accountable for performance, security, and adherence to AWS best practices and the Well-Architected Framework. Ensure the cloud environment consistently meets and exceeds industry standards, including ISO 27001 compliance.
• Operational Excellence & Service Delivery: Oversee all IT operations, ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of critical systems. Lead the management of IT incidents, problems, and changes, ensuring a swift and effective response to minimize business impact. Proactively identify and address operational gaps, optimize processes, and implement automation to enhance efficiency and reliability across both cloud and on-premises environments.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the internal IT operations team, fostering their growth and ensuring seamless delivery of critical services, including end-user computing and internal system support.
• Security & Compliance Champion: Act as a key guardian of the IT security posture. This involves proactively managing IT risks, ensuring robust security controls are in place across both cloud and on-premises environments, aligning with our commitment to ISO 27001.
• Innovation & Optimization: Continuously identify and implement opportunities to leverage new AWS innovations, optimize cloud costs, and enhance infrastructure performance and resilience.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a vital link between IT, business stakeholders, and application development teams. Support the seamless deployment of applications and ensure infrastructure aligns with development needs and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with proven success in a leadership or senior capacity.
• Significant experience in managing and optimizing AWS cloud environments, coupled with a strong understanding of IT managed service provider oversight. AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) are highly advantageous.
• Demonstrable expertise in applying IT operational best practices across incident, problem, and change management.
• Solid grasp of IT security principles and best practices, with practical experience or strong knowledge of ISO 27001 compliance.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• A highly proactive, self-starter mindset with a demonstrated ability to drive initiatives independently and deliver results.
