The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring all utensils, equipment, and work areas are clean, sanitized, and ready for food preparation and service.
QUALIFICATION
- At least a High School graduate.
- Preferably with experience as a steward or utility staff in a food service environment (restaurant, commissary, hotel, café).
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Physically fit; able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Hardworking, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to be assigned in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
JOB SUMMARY
The Kitchen Steward supports the BOH team by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the kitchen. This position ensures that all kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and ready for service, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of a fine dining environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean, wash, and sanitize kitchen utensils, dishes, glassware, pots, and pans.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all kitchen, storage, and dishwashing areas.
Operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning chemicals safely and correctly.
Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are sanitized and ready for use.
Assist in waste segregation, disposal, and recycling in compliance with restaurant policies.
Support chefs by maintaining proper supply of clean tools, dishes, and cookware during service.
Monitor and report maintenance or repair needs for dishwashing or cleaning equipment.
Follow hygiene and safety standards as required by health and sanitation regulations.
Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies and deliveries when needed.
