QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist
- Hospital experience is a plus
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Available to start immediately
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Radiologist Physician in imaging and disease diagnosis processes.
- Receive and process requests for imaging services from hospital wards and doctors.
- Encode and apply charges for procedures.
- Inquire with patients about any previous imaging studies relevant to the requested procedure.
- Verify patient data and retrieve prior related studies from Bizbox and PACS.
- Gather pertinent clinical information or history related to the patient's requested procedure.
- Prepare and assist patients for the procedure.
- Effectively explain the procedure to patients and ensure their comfort and ease throughout.
- Perform accurate positioning and apply the necessary techniques for the procedure.
- Ensure high-quality imaging to provide sufficient data for thorough examination and accurate diagnosis by the physician.
- Perform regular and specialized procedures under the supervision of the Senior Radiologic Technologist.
- Operate various radiology equipment, under the guidance of the Senior Radiologic Technologist, including:
- Lithotripsy (Storz Medical Modulith) 120MA
- Canon Zexira Drex ZX 80DR/RF 1000 MA
- GE Silhouette VR 200 MA
- Toshiba 200 MA - 100 KVP
- Brivo XR MA
- C-Arm GE OEC Fluorostar MA - 100 KVP
- Mammography Senographe DS 49 MA
- GE Brightspeed B16 slice with dual power injector
- GE Lightspeed VCT 64 slice with dual power injector
- MRI Optima T G.E.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by adhering to radiation protection protocols, using shielding, and applying proper exposure factors.
- Review image quality at the workstation and repeat suboptimal images when necessary.
- Inform patients when their study is completed and advise them to return for results.
- Post-process X-ray images using Kodak Carestream C.R digitizer; mammography, CT scan, and MRI images via GE Advantage Workstation.
- Process CD/DVD copies using Codonics Virtua C and film processing with Codonics horizontal 65 multi-media imager printer.
- Record all in-patient and out-patient examinations and procedures daily.
- Keep up-to-date records for all procedures, whether films are used or not.
- Track and record daily and monthly CD/DVD and film usage.
- Foster positive relationships with patients and co-workers within the department.
- Coordinate effectively with clerical staff and fellow technologists.
- Ensure all office equipment and machines are well-maintained; report any malfunction to the Senior or Chief Radiologic Technologist immediately.
- Rotate through various sections of the department (X-ray, Mammography, CT scan, and MRI).
- Stay current with professional knowledge and skills by attending local conventions and conferences to keep up with the latest advancements in radiologic imaging and procedures.
