Key Responsibilities
- Set up new AC units, ductwork, and related mechanical systems following blueprints and codes.
- Conduct routine inspections, clean components, replace filters, and check refrigerant levels to ensure peak efficiency.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, diagnose malfunctions, and repair or replace faulty parts like compressors, motors, and controls.
- Use tools to identify system problems, test components, and ensure optimal performance.
- Explain issues, provide cost estimates, recommend upgrades, and advise on energy efficiency.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including handling refrigerants.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of an accredited HVAC or vocational program.
- EPA 608 certification (for refrigerants) and relevant trade licenses, required.
- Proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting abilities; ability to read technical diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, customer service, and time management skills.
- Capable of manual labor, lifting heavy equipment, and working in various conditions.
