About the Role:
As our SMSF Accountant, you will be responsible for providing end to end accounting services for all SMSF functions. This includes the preparation of financial statements, compliance returns, analyzing data and collaborating with other team members.
About Your Day-to-Day Tasks:
Accounting Services
- Accurate preparation of tax returns for Superannuation Funds;
- Accurate preparation of financial accounts for Superannuation Funds;
- Identify and attend to all related tax matters for clients including but not limited to excess contributions, transfer balance caps, Division 293's, total super balances
- Support the partner/manager by taking initiative in preparing succinct workpapers and query sheets.
- Proficient level knowledge on the usage of superannuation accounting package CLASS Super
- Daily preparation of timesheets.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills
Client Relationships
- Collaborate, consult and provide feedback to the manager /partner
- Actively assist the manager /partner with management of client relationships.
- Provide continuous input to improvement and innovation in business process and efficiencies
Leadership, Culture and coaching team development
- Continually update the partner/manager on progress of key responsibilities
- Provide support/coaching to all team members where appropriate
- Learn to be a great leader by working with an Award Winning Accounting Firm
About You and Your Experiences
- At least 1 year of required experience in SMSF accounting in Australian context.
- Proven ability to prepare SMSF financial statements and tax returns independently.
- Proficiency in CLASS Super software.
- Knowledge of Australian SMSF rules, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Amenable to work on site: BGC Day shift
