SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer to join our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions across our technology platforms. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive test plans, conducting manual and automated testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, track, and resolve defects. The Software Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with industry standards, enhancing system usability and reliability, and facilitating seamless transitions from development to operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in software testing methodologies, hands-on experience with QA tools, and a solid understanding of networking, system architecture, and cloud-based environments. Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test Planning & Strategy: Develop test plans and strategies aligned with project goals and risk assessments.
  • Test Case Development: Create detailed test cases and scripts to validate functionality, usability, and reliability.
  • Manual & Automated Testing: Execute tests using manual techniques and automation tools to ensure thorough coverage.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and prioritize defects; collaborate with teams to resolve issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Solution Architects, System Integrators, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and recommend improvements.
  • Process Optimization: Contribute to retrospectives and reviews to enhance QA practices and project workflows.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Risk Evaluation: Assess potential risks and prioritize testing to mitigate critical issues.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Facilitate UAT sessions and evaluate solutions from an end-user perspective.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test plans, cases, results, and defect reports.
  • Operational Transition: Support the handover of solutions to Operations teams with complete documentation and guidance.

DAILY TASKS

  • Review requirements and technical documents
  • Create structured test plans and cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities
  • Document and track bugs
  • Conduct regression testing
  • Apply testing processes to new and existing products
  • Monitor QA metrics (e.g., defect density)
  • Stay updated on testing tools and strategies
  • Collaborate closely with implementation teams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience/certifications.

  • Technical Skills:

  • QA Tools & Frameworks: Familiarity with test case management and automation tools.

  • Networking & Systems: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and OS environments (Windows/Linux).
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure, M365, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Security Awareness: Ability to identify vulnerabilities and escalate to SOC teams.
  • Data Validation: Proficiency in SQL and data integrity verification.

  • Certifications (Preferred):

  • ISTQB, CQA, CSQA, CSTE

  • Soft Skills:
