HSS Officer

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with government regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support security coordination efforts.
• Ensure all emergency response teams and equipment are maintained and ready to respond effectively during emergencies.
• Schedule, report, and manage area inspections and job safety observations.
• Manage and facilitate employee development and Health, Safety & Security (HS&S) training programs.
• Provide technical advice during management meetings on the development of Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), work permits, and other safety-related requirements.
• Implement and maintain safety systems and initiatives for both employees and contractors.
• Serve as the site Security Officer and assist the HSS Manager with implementing security protocols, including threat assessments and the development of appropriate control measures.
• Verify and log all incidents on-site using the company's reporting system and participate in the investigation of medium-level incidents.
• Manage and support the implementation of organizational protection goals and objectives in alignment with the overall Health, Safety, and Security strategic plan.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Science-related field.
• Must be a Certified Safety Officer 3.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a safety management role within a large organization, or five (5) years in an operational role in a safety-focused environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of safety principles including risk management, incident investigation, systems development, behavioral safety, change management, hazard recognition, auditing, inspections, and reporting.
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
