The Roofing Engineering Specialist will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of roofing systems for various commercial and residential projects. The specialist will work closely with project teams and contractors to ensure that roofing systems are designed and constructed to meet project specifications, building codes, and industry standards. The Roofing Engineering Specialist will also be responsible for identifying potential issues with roofing systems and developing solutions to ensure that they function effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of roofing systems for various commercial and residential projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure that roofing systems are designed and constructed to meet project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Identify potential issues with roofing systems and develop solutions to ensure that they function effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect roofing systems and assess their condition, identifying necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring that all roofing systems are designed and constructed to meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct research on new roofing technologies and materials, recommending updates to roofing system designs and construction methods as needed.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans for roofing systems, ensuring that all necessary repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate and recommend roofing contractors and vendors for various projects.
  • Provide training and support to roofing contractors and vendors to ensure that they understand project requirements and meet industry standards.
  • Ensure that all work complies with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with a focus on roofing systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in roofing system design and construction, with a strong technical understanding of roofing materials and construction techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards related to roofing systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines related to roofing system design and construction.
  • Able to travel to project sites and perform site visits, including climbing ladders and walking on roofs.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time
