Job Summary
The Maintenance Staff is responsible for performing basic inspections, preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and support tasks to keep the company's trucks and equipment in good running condition. This role works closely with mechanics, drivers, and the operations team to ensure timely servicing, troubleshooting, and upkeep of the fleet.
ResponsibilitiesVehicle Checks & Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks (tires, brakes, lights, oil levels, fluids, batteries, etc.).
- Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks such as checking fluids, replacing bulbs, topping up oil, and tightening components.
- Assist in scheduling trucks for preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Report any abnormalities or potential issues to the head mechanic or supervisor.
Repair Assistance & Workshop Support
- Assist mechanics with minor repairs, part replacements, and troubleshooting.
- Help ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and workshop safety protocols.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the workshop, tools, and storage areas.
Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain simple maintenance logs and daily checklists for fleet records.
- Coordinate with drivers regarding truck issues noted during pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Assist in tracking parts inventory and reporting items that need replenishment.
Operational Support
- Support emergency roadside assistance when required.
- Assist in fueling, washing, and preparing trucks for dispatch.
- Perform other related tasks to support fleet readiness and smooth operations.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or Vocational Course Graduate (Automotive Servicing NC I or NC II is an advantage).
- Experience in vehicle maintenance, automotive servicing, or workshop assistance is preferred.
- Basic understanding of diesel engines, truck components, and automotive tools.
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry, and perform hands-on tasks.
- Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and willingness to learn.
