Cost Control Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring and controlling project-related costs, ensuring accurate tracking of production data, and supporting the preparation of reports and proposals. The role ensures that all cost-related activities are well-documented, billed correctly, and processed in a timely and efficient manner. The role also assists in coordinating with the Client at the site level. The Cost Control Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager, and administratively to the MPE Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production and accomplishment reports reflecting the quarry project's productivity and performance, for discussion to the Project Manager, and submission to Delta Corporate Engineering and Executive Committee.

  2. Analyze operations productivity versus approved targets and recommend measures to improve overall project efficiency and cost performance.

  3. Maintain and update the databases for production, drilling, blasting activities and other related quarrying activities of the project, ensuring data integrity and accuracy

  4. Ensure that all work accomplishments are properly documented, billed accurately, billed on time, and consistently followed up until approval or closure.

  5. Provide reliable data to support the preparation of corporate project bids and proposals. 6. Monitor and validate all quarry project documents and ensure proper filing, referencing, and compliance with contract terms.

  6. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering; licensure or board eligibility is an advantage.

  2. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; any relevant internship or project experience will be an advantage.

  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and most especially Excel)

  4. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

  5. Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  6. Willing to learn and take initiative in supporting technical and cost control functions.

  7. Effective communication and coordination skills.

  8. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under minimal supervision.

  9. Able to work with people from different functional areas, and all level of the organization. 10. Willing to be assigned to project sites, with the possibility of being offered transfers to other project sites under company contracts, subject to prior discussion and mutual agreement.

DELIVERABLES:

  1. Timely and accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

  2. Complete and updated databases and records.

  3. On-time billing of accomplishments with complete and verified supporting documents.

  4. Reliable data and analysis support for proposals and bids.

  5. Recommendations and observations that help improve cost efficiency and resource use.

INTER/INTRA PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Works closely with the Project Manager

  2. Provides direction and guidance to the MPE Team on-site.

  3. Coordinates with the Operations Team to support the overall improvement of quarry performance.

  4. Maintains harmonious working relationship with colleagues across all functions and levels of the organization.

  5. Upholds professional relationships with the Client and other external stakeholders.

APPROVALS/AUTHORITIES:

  • Prepares, reviews, and submits cost-related data, productivity reports, and client billings

  • Acts within limits defined by Delta's authority matrix
