Position Summary:

A Process Excellence Engineer analyzes, designs, and optimizes industrial/business processes to boost efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, using data analysis, process mapping, and Lean/Six Sigma methods to identify bottlenecks, implement improvements (like automation or SOPs), manage projects, and ensure compliance with safety/regulatory standards, working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Process Analysis Optimization:

. Process Mapping & Analysis: Creating visual representations of current processes (As-Is) to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

. Methodology Application: Implementing Lean (waste reduction) and Six Sigma (variation reduction) principles to improve process quality and speed.

. Data-Driven Improvement: Using statistical analysis and process mining tools to gather insights, track performance, and forecast outcomes.

. Optimization & Redesign: Designing future-state processes (To-Be) that are more efficient, effective, and aligned with business objectives.

. Automation & Technology: Leveraging BPM (Business Process Management) software (like ARIS, Bizagi) and automation platforms (like Nintex) to streamline workflows.

. Change Management: Leading teams through process changes, ensuring stakeholder buy-in, and driving adoption.

Design and Implementation:

. Creating new or redesigning existing workflows, systems, and equipment layouts for better output, quality, and sustainability.

. Using KPIs and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas needing improvement.

. Applying Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile principles to standardize and improve processes

. Diagnosing production issues and implementing corrective actions, often involving simulation and process control.

. Leading the rollout of new processes, training staff, and ensuring smooth adoption with minimal disruption.

Project Management:

. Defining tasks, timelines, and resource allocation for improvement projects (e.g., DMAIC cycles).

. Risk Management: Identifying potential project roadblocks and developing contingency plans.

. Data Analysis: Using data to baseline performance, track project progress, and validate improvements.

. Process Mapping: Visualizing current and future states (Value Stream Mapping).

. Budget Management: Ensuring projects stay within financial constraints

Qualifications:

  1. College Graduate (B.S. Engineering Course)
  2. 2+ year experience working as a Six Sigma and/or Lean Practitioner or a similar role
  3. Certifications such as CSS, Black Belt or Master Black Belt strongly preferred
  4. Working knowledge of methodologies
  5. Experience working with tools like VSM, Kaizen, DMAIC/DMADV, 5S, Kaizen, 8D
  6. Excellent communication and presentation, change management, and project management skills
