We are seeking a
Fund Accounting – Onboarding Manager

who will lead the onboarding of new clients and funds into the company's accounting and administration platform, while managing and guiding the onboarding team to ensure operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient fund onboarding, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Lead and manage the onboarding team, providing direction, support, and oversight to ensure high-quality execution across all onboarding engagements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for new clients, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication throughout the onboarding process.
  • Review draft legal documents (e.g., LPA, PPM, IMA) for new clients and provide relevant comments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Team to develop fee structures for prospective clients.
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding for new client engagements, ensuring timely and accurate setup in systems in accordance with fund legal documents and internal standards.
  • Maintain and enhance processes for updating technology systems during client onboarding and ongoing account activity, including internal proprietary tools, third-party accounting platforms, and other firm-wide technology solutionsBuild and maintain strong client relationships to understand needs and deliver tailored onboarding solutions.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various departments, including Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Tax, to ensure onboarding activities are aligned, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Validate working papers, templates, and supporting schedules to meet internal quality and compliance standards.
  • Resolve client inquiries related to onboarding professionally and promptly, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Maintain accountability for onboarding documentation, checklists, and audit trails throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
  • Lead weekly onboarding meetings to provide updates, clarify priorities, and address operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Production team to ensure a smooth and seamless transition of onboarded clients into mainstream operations.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associate Accountants, resolving complex accounting issues and reinforcing best practices.
  • Ensure that the training needs of the onboarding team are identified and coordinated with the Learning and Development team and provide/prepare training materials needed for the training in coordination with the other managers of the onboarding team.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.
  • Work on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • While the initial training period will equip you with the necessary skills for this role, candidates should already demonstrate the following: Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in financial services particularly in alternative investments and asset management industry
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
  • Proficiency in fund accounting platforms
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strict attention to detail
  • Client-facing experience and excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • High accuracy in reviewing fund documents and financial data
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills preferred
  • Hybrid work schedule (in-office and remote); subject to future modification by the company
