Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting inventory, sales, and distribution data to guide the business in making informed stock decisions. This includes the assessment of inventory movement, recommendation of stock orders, identifying items for markdown or promotion, and improving the current reporting mechanisms. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Analysis and Management

· Monitor and analyze inventory levels and movement across all retail stores and distribution centers.

· Identify slow-moving stock and provide recommendations for markdowns or promotions.

· Predict and recommend optimal stock levels based on sales trends, seasonality, and historical data.

Sales and Distribution Analysis

· Review sales data and identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for growth.

· Analyze the efficiency and reach of the reseller distribution network.

· Recommend strategies to improve distribution channels based on the analysis.

Reporting Enhancement

· Review current reporting systems and methodologies.

· Propose and implement improvements to ensure data accuracy, relevance, and ease of interpretation.

· Generate regular reports on stock status, sales performance, and other key metrics for leadership.

Promotion and Marketing Analysis

· Collaborate with the marketing team to assess the effectiveness of promotional campaigns.

· Recommend products or categories for promotions based on data analysis.

· Provide insights on customer preferences and buying behaviors.

Collaboration and Communication

· Engage with various teams including procurement, marketing, and sales to provide data-driven insights.

· Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.

Continuous Learning and Development

· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in retail data analysis.

· Experiment with new analytical tools and software to enhance data analysis capabilities.

Qualifications

· Proven experience as a data analyst, preferably in the retail sector.

· Strong proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

· Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information simply.

· Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with different teams.

· Detail-oriented with an insatiable curiosity for digging deeper into data.
