The role will manage the payroll process, ensure compliance with Philippine employment and tax regulations, and maintain accurate payroll records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and practices, applicable tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the payroll process, including processing payroll, verifying payroll data, and ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees.
- Ensure compliance related to payroll, including tax withholding, benefits, and payroll deductions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies and in-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws.
- Reconcile payroll accounts on a per project level and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Extensive experience in preparing ledger entries and processing payments.
- Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports, as well as answering payroll inquiries.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and maintain employee payroll records on a per project level.
- Conduct spot audit on the payroll registers matching with the daily time records of each employee.
- Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues.
- Provide support for audits related to payroll and benefits.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy.
12. Assist the Finance Department in ad hoc activities such as audit and review and other tasks that maybe assigned by Management.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Familiarity with payroll software and systems is an advantage.
