Solar Technician Job Description

The Solar Technician assemble, install, or maintain solar panel systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. Performs Operation, Testing, Maintenance and Troubleshooting Related Activities for the Photovoltaic System.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble solar module, panel, or support mechanism

• Install solar panel system accordance with codes and standards using drawings and instructions

• Check electrical installation for proper wiring or grounding

• Determine connection interfaces for additional subpanels or for connecting panel system or other power generation sources

• Determine panel system design based on factors such as customers need, expectation, and site conditions

• Install required labels on solar system components and hardware
  • Civil Works (Trenching, Welding, Painting, Carpentry, Masonry, etc.)

• Operate the PV System Installed

• Maintain and perform troubleshooting activities to ensure the PV system is working as intended
