Holcim is in need of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Interns that will be assigned to the Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) Team at the Holcim Plant. As an Intern, you will be given exposure to the following:

  • Energy Isolation Procedure Mastery: Learn, apply, and accelerate the writing of site-specific Energy Isolation (LOTOTO) procedures for various equipment and process lines.
  • Safety System Auditing: Identify and inventory critical safety assets, including Machine Guarding, Emergency Pullcords, Emergency Stops, and LOTOTO Devices across plant areas.
  • Digital Transformation: Assist in the digitalization of key safety registers by developing and implementing digital inspection tools (e.g., via Google Forms).
  • HSS Standards & Compliance: Complete mandatory site induction, learn about the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, and master the Energy Isolation Standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Discuss and collaborate with Area Owners and the HSS Manager to develop and test procedures for effective implementation.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering students who will enroll or are currently enrolled in a Practicum course.
