- Assess and evaluate patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Prepare dialysis machines and ensure all equipment is properly disinfected and functioning.
- Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis sessions according to established protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses during treatment.
- Observe and document vital signs, patient status, and any adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain accurate patient records and dialysis treatment logs.
- Educate patients and families about dialysis care, diet, fluid restriction, and home management.
- Follow infection control and safety policies to prevent cross-contamination.
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste and materials properly.
- Assist physicians and nephrologists in evaluating patient care plans.
- Monitor and maintain supplies, medications, and equipment inventory in the dialysis unit.
- Participate in quality assurance, calibration, and maintenance of dialysis machines.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and perform basic life support (BLS).
- Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and training.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Nurse Supervisor or Unit Head.
