Job Title: Boat Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Boat Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company boats and marine engines. This role ensures that all vessels are safe, seaworthy, and operating efficiently to support company operations and customer service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on boat engines, motors, and mechanical systems (inboard, outboard, and diesel engines).
  • Conduct inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning parts, including propellers, steering systems, fuel lines, pumps, and batteries.
  • Tune engines, adjust components, and perform system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain hulls, bilge systems, hydraulic systems, and cooling systems.
  • Conduct sea-trials to test repairs and overall vessel performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and marine standards at all times.
  • Keep complete records of repairs, parts used, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
  • Provide recommendations for preventive maintenance and necessary upgrades.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Department for parts purchasing, repair schedules, and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workspace, tools, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Vocational or technical course in Marine Mechanics, Small Engine Repair, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Boat Mechanic or Marine Technician (preferred).
  • Knowledgeable in marine engine systems, electrical systems, and mechanical repair processes.
  • Ability to diagnose issues accurately and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various marine environments.
  • Willing to work on-call, weekends, or extended hours when needed.
