Comic Artist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and imaginative Comic Artist to bring stories to life through compelling visuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of character design, storytelling, and panel composition, creating artwork that captivates readers and enhances narrative flow. This role involves collaborating closely with writers, editors, and other creative team members to develop visually striking comics across print and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret scripts or story outlines into visually engaging comic panels and pages.
• Design and develop characters, backgrounds, props, and settings consistent with the story's tone and style.
• Create storyboards, rough sketches, and final artwork according to project requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with writers, inkers, colorists, and letterers to ensure cohesive storytelling.
• Revise artwork based on feedback from editors or creative directors.
• Maintain consistency in style, proportions, and character appearances throughout a series.
• Keep up-to-date with current trends in comics, graphic novels, and visual storytelling.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a comic artist, illustrator, or in a related field.
• Strong proficiency in traditional and/or digital drawing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, Procreate).
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, and storytelling techniques.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A portfolio showcasing a variety of comic or illustrative work is required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with sequential art, graphic novels, webcomics, or animation.
• Knowledge of coloring and inking techniques.
• Familiarity with multiple art styles and adaptability to different project requirements.
