JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provides nutrition consultation and education to patients as well as in-service training to both dietary personnel and other related fields.
- Supervises the development of specialized diets using appropriate dietary modifications where necessary.
- Supervises menu planning for special functions and cycle menus for patients.
- Prepares individual computations of meal plans for special diets and determines nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients.
- Provides safe, nutritious, and attractive food through careful planning, wise procurement, and proper preparation of balanced and satisfying meals within budget limits.
- Maintains or enhances the health of patients and personnel by providing high-quality and nutritious food through an efficient dietary service.
- Prepares diet cards for each meal based on verified and updated diet lists, and supervises the tray line to ensure conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance.
- Prepares presentations to discuss basic nutrition knowledge, different diets, and restrictions with dietary staff.
- Develops curriculum and prepares manuals, visual aids, and other materials used in teaching.
- Assists with the selection of staff who are competent in job-related knowledge and skills.
- Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards of practice, and processes to guide and support the Dietary Department.
- Coordinates and integrates with other hospital departments and medical services to provide the best possible patient care.
- Prepares a budget forecast and monthly financial report to ensure that operations remain within the allotted budget.
- Performs other dietary department management related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must be a graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics;
- Candidate must be a Licensed Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND);
- Must have 1-2 years work experience in clinical nutrition, some supervisory or leadership exposure preferred;
- Proven experience in nutrition planning, food preparation, and meal development;
- Creative, well-organized, and attentive to detail;
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to employee well-being; and
- Willing to work in Las Piñas City.
