Position: RCM Analyst Assistant

Employment Status: Independent Contractor

Work Set UP: 100% WFH

Work Schedule: US Time Zone (Graveyard Shift)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate the end-to-end revenue cycle process, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, collections, and payment posting.
  • Identify areas of revenue leakage, inefficiencies, and process bottlenecks in the revenue cycle and propose solutions to address them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.

  • Develop performance dashboards, conduct data analysis, and generate reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue cycle metrics, denials, days in accounts receivable, and cash flow.

  • Create variance reports to identify and trend payment discrepancies (e.g. denials, underpayments, write-offs, etc.)

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of contract compliance and financial performance for third-party payers to support leadership during payer contract negotiations.
  • Utilize revenue cycle management systems (Advanced MD, Salesforce, and Retool) and tools to track and analyze revenue performance, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Support the RCM Analyst with ad hoc reports requested by the RCM leadership team.
  • Participate in revenue cycle-related projects, such as system implementations, upgrades, and workflow redesigns.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executive leadership, department managers, and external partners, to drive revenue cycle improvements and achieve financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business administration, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field. Bachelors is preferred.
  • Proven experience (1-3 years) as a business analyst or in revenue cycle management within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, claims, reimbursement, and collections.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software (Access, Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, and others is a plus).
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management systems and healthcare EHR/EMR information systems (e.g., electronic health records, practice management software). Advanced MD (AMD), Salesforce, and Retool is a plus.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements related to the revenue cycle, such as HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify process gaps, perform root-cause analysis, propose solutions, and drive implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working independently in a remote environment with high productivity and quality standards.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in revenue cycle management.
