First Aider

Job Description Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for providing medical assistance and emergency care in case of accidents or health-related incidents until professional medical help arrives.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer first aid to employees or site personnel in the event of injury or illness.
• Maintain and check first aid kits and ensure supplies are complete and up to date.
• Keep accurate records of all incidents, treatments and patient details.
• Assess the severity of injuries and determine whether further medical attention is required.
• Stay on standby during high-risk activities (e.g. hot work, confined space entry).
• Communicate effectively with emergency services when necessary.
• Promote health and safety practices in the workplace.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid Certification from Red Cross or any accredited body.
• Good communication and observation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
• Basic understanding of workplace hazards and PPE requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of moving quicky in emergency scenarios.

Work Environment

• Full-time based on-site based on a construction or project site (may involve fieldwork exposure).
• May require PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when accessing active site areas.
• Standard workweek (Monday to Saturday) but may require working overtime or night shifts based on project requirements and deadlines.
