Position Overview

The Business Development Assistant will support the Business Development Manager/Team in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the construction industry. This role requires a proactive individual with knowledge of construction projects, client relations, and market research, who can contribute to the company's growth and competitive positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and clients in the construction sector.
  • Support in preparing bids, proposals, pre-qualification documents, and tender submissions.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, potential projects, and strategic prospects.
  • Maintain an updated database of clients, leads, and ongoing opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the estimating, engineering, and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely proposal submissions.
  • Prepare presentations, marketing materials, and client reports to support business development initiatives.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on client engagements.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with existing clients and stakeholders by ensuring effective communication and support.
  • Track progress of leads and provide regular updates to the Business Development Manager.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned to support the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, bidding, and project management is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business productivity tools.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
