Our Agri division is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic HR Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The HR Specialist for the Swine Industry plays a crucial role in attracting, developing, and retaining a skilled workforce essential for the successful operation of our swine production facilities. This position encompasses a broad range of HR responsibilities, including recruitment, employee engagement, training and development, and social media management, all tailored to the unique demands of the agricultural and livestock sector. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of both HR best practices and the specific needs of the swine industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the support and swine operation.
- Source candidates through diverse channels, including online job boards, industry-specific platforms, local community outreach, and partnerships with agricultural colleges/vocational schools.
- Conduct thorough screening of resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, and coordinate background checks and drug screenings.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate communication, and offer negotiation.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive onboarding program to ensure new employees are integrated smoothly into the company culture and understand their roles and responsibilities, including farm safety and biosecurity protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records and applicant tracking system.
- Coordinate with third party contractor on contracts, manpower requirements, and billings
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee morale and productivity.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs, team-building activities, and employee feedback surveys.
- Develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance the company's employer brand and attract potential candidates.
- Create and manage engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, highlighting the company's culture, values, and career opportunities.
- Monitor social media channels for comments and inquiries and respond in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilize social media analytics to track performance and optimize content strategy.
- Ensure all social media content is consistent with the company's brand guidelines and legal requirements.
- Create content that shows the positive aspects of careers in the swine industry, and combat negative stereotypes.
- In charge in requisition of office supplies and other admin tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in HR, preferably in the agricultural or livestock industry.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, employee engagement, training and development, and social media management principles.
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools.
- Passion for the agricultural industry and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a rural setting and adapt to the demands of agricultural operations.
- Knowledge of biosecurity protocols is a plus.
