Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Management - Oversee environmental regulations, ensuring compliance with national laws such as Republic Act 8749 (Clean Air Act) and Republic Act 9275 (Clean Water Act), and local ordinances.
- Permit & Application Management - Apply for, renew, and monitor permits and licenses related to pollution control facilities, such as discharge permits, permit to operate, and Hazardous Waste Identification.
- Facility Supervision - Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities (e.g., wastewater treatment, air pollution control equipment).
- Monitoring & Reporting - Conduct environmental monitoring for air, water, noise, and waste levels, and prepare and submit regular monitoring reports (such as Self-Monitoring Reports/Quarterly Self-Monitoring Reports) and incident reports to regulatory agencies.
- Waste Management - Monitor the generation, storage, and proper disposal of hazardous and other wastes, ensuring legal compliance and the availability of required documentation.
- Incident Response - Develop and implement emergency response plans for environmental incidents like spills or releases, and serve as the liaison with authorities during emergencies.
- Training & Awareness - Provide environmental awareness programs and training to staff to foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Audits & Investigations - Conduct internal environmental audits and investigate environmental incidents and non-compliance issues.
- Liaison - Act as a technical point of contact and representative for the establishment with the DENR-EMB, local government units, and other environmental regulatory bodies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or any related field
- Accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) by DENR is an advantage
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance or regulatory reporting
- Familiarity with DENR permitting and reporting systems
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to coordinate across departments and external regulatory bodies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php17, Php20,000.00 per month
